May a mediator allow a third party unrelated to the litigation (such as a friend or other family member) to be present during a “caucus” phase of the mediation if the other party objects?

No. If the other party objects, a mediator cannot allow a third party unrelated to the litigation to be present during the “caucus” phase of the mediation.
