What is Mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process for resolving disputes - a process in which a neutral third party, the mediator, helps parties reach a resolution. Mediation affords the parties to a dispute a great deal of control. The role of the third party is confined to assisting with the negotiations; mediators do not take sides, and do not make binding decisions.

Mediation is used by families, businesses, and organizations, and as a diplomatic tool for resolving international conflicts.
